The renowned Geometry Dash ($1.99) received its eagerly awaited 2.2 upgrade, which adds new game modes, levels, music, collectibles, icons, and more, six years after its previous significant update. There had been some delay in the launch of this update. It was originally scheduled to happen a few months ago. Now that Geometry Dash 2.2 is available on Steam, iOS, and Android, all of that is behind us.
Along with 100 new accomplishments the update includes new secrets to uncover, 30 new Gauntlets, new shards, shader effects, and much more. Visit the Geometry Dash Steam website to view the complete list of additions in the patch notes.
Players’ Exploiting New Features To Next Level
Now, users are recreating some famous titles like Yume Nikki, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Mario Kart using these recently added features to the game’s level editor, thereby making the 2013 rhythm platformer into its own game engine in an overnight fashion.
Developer RobTop’s update 2.2, which was made available on December 19, includes a new main level, a new game mode, and—possibly the most important—additional tools for the level editor of the game, such as particle editing, camera controls, and new shader effects.
Several players are still posting their creations on social media two weeks later, and believe me the creations are quite interesting and impressive. They’ve produced some pretty amazing remakes of well-known games, some of which appear impossible in Geometry Dash.
3D Games, Rainbow Tracks, And What Not!
Although the level builder in GeometryDash is completely 2D, some gamers have taken it too far by generating 3D games. Player YaY is now working on a Geometry Dash reproduction of the original Five Nights at Freddy’s, and they have already incorporated working doors and cameras, as other players have posted on X/Twitter and Reddit.
Another master player recreated the Super Mario Kart version, adding Rainbow shaded road it.
Well, the fun doesn’t end here! Apart from 3D games recreation players have also tried and successfully recreated versions of Celeste. And what’s more interesting is that it actually looks like a kind of original version. Here’s a preview,
Furthermore, some people also have shown interest on social media regarding remaking Yumi Nikki in geometry dash!
Even recreation of specific events like Boss Fight from Terraria’s Calamity are also in line,

Rocking Performance After Geometry Dash’s 2.2 Update
The night that Update 2.2 was released, Geometry Dash broke its own record for concurrent players, according to Steam Charts. Since then, it has continued to have a healthy player base, probably in part because of the remakes that people are creating.
Players naturally have one question, now that Doom can be played on almost anything, including Notepad, pregnancy tests, and Doom itself: can Geometry Dash run Doom? In my opinion, Yes! Maybe more than half of the work has been done as I am writing this article. Do let us know if you have any sneaky peek on this!
