Yesterday, on December 17, CODM World Championship 2023 concluded, with Team Wolves emerging victorious. But team Indian GodLike Esports, which represented India after emerging victorious from the regional contenders via the Snapdragon Pro Series, had a significant impact on the international competitive esports scene, making this a significant title for India. GodLike Esports put up a fierce battle in line with their performance throughout the Championship and emerged as the first runners-up, even though team Wolves was crowned the winner.

The weekend of December 15–17 was dedicated to the CODM World Championship 2023. On Friday, 16 international teams that advanced from their respective Regional Qualifiers competed in a best-of-three-out-of-five Swiss Stage format. GodLike finished the day with an overall score of 3-1, placing them in the Top 8. Learn, Neutrino, Trunks, Abhizdada, Skullguy, and Prevail were among the team members.
They were eligible to compete in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship games of the playoffs. Out of the four games they participated in, GodLike lost the opening round 1-2 to Kagendra but won three straight against Kings 2-0, team Exclusive 2-0, and TLE Esports 2-1.

The Finals: CODM World Championship 2023
But the Grand Finals saw some close, thrilling competition, with GodLike setting the first goal on the scoreboard. They finished as the runners-up to Team Wolves, the Champions, but ultimately fell to them by a score of 4-2. While Team Wolves won the Champions trophy and a cash prize of $400,000 (INR 3.3 crores), GodLike went on to win a cash prize of $1,70,000 (INR 1.4 crores).
Nevertheless, considering that Team GodLike defeated some of the best teams in the world, including Luminosity, one cannot ignore how far they have gone in the CODM World Championship 2023. They are said to have given the finest Indian tea performance ever at the World Championship. Team GodLike won the Snapdragon Pro Challenger Series in 2022 as well, earning them the right to compete globally for India. However, they were unable to advance to the Playoffs. GodLike’s performance this year has not only significantly improved, but it also shows how India is moving closer to realizing its dream of competing internationally in esports.
Learn, Captain of GodLike Esports’ CODM Team, spoke about his experience at the World Championship. He added, “We have come a long way, defeating many teams, and representing India at a global event.” We are overflowing with pride and thankfulness. Now that Indian eSports has gained recognition on a global scale, we will make every effort to propel it forward and achieve even greater success.
