The Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update from CD Projekt Red feels like a completely different game than the one we had on release day, even after the significant patch 1.6 in the past. It brings vehicular combat, a redesigned skill tree, an improved police system, and many quality-of-life improvements.
Updates in Skill Tree
I can honestly state that Cyberpunk 2077 is not the same old role-playing game. The revised skill tree was one of the things that was truly appalling.
Although the free update’s modifications may not seem significant at first glance, the new skill tree has significantly altered Cyberpunk 2077’s gameplay. It felt like the skill tree finally helps lend more individuality to V, which is an important component of any RPG. The new skill tree system invites players to pick up new powers and bonuses that match their playstyle.
Previously Cyberpunk lacked self-sustaining healing effects. The previous skill tree, which typically provided percentage increases to your stats, was also identical. The addition of several new skills to the skill tree under the new system may motivate players to begin working toward it by their build preferences.
MaxTac: The Epitome of Law-Enforcers
Not only do police automobile chases fall under the recently outlined police system, but dealing with the police has also changed significantly. More significantly, I believe, the new modifications have also affected how you approach the game. Before the big guns—MaxTac—arrived, I wanted to see how hard it would be to avoid the Night City Police Department (NCPD). To be fair, I never really thought about it as an issue.
Those who have watched Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime spin-off of Cyberpunk 2077, have seen how competent MaxTac is as a law enforcement officer in Night City. When your wanted level reaches its 5-star maximum, MaxTac steps in. And you’ll be crushed like an ant by the Big Gun.
Vehicle combat is another feature of the latest update, and while it can be useful in the early stages of a chase. Also, as the wanted level rises and police cars become more powerful and tough. The fact that there is auto-aim, at least makes the tool somewhat helpful to everyone.
Edgerunners Perks in CyberPunk 2077 2.0
As a fan of Cyberpunk, I’ve also seen the Cyberpunk 2077 spin-off series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Some Edgerunners-inspired features have been added to the game, giving players access to special powers like David Martinez’s unusual tolerance and affinity for Chrome (cyberware) and Lucy’s Live Wire. The ability to enhance your Cyberware capability is this specific perk’s greatest benefit. You can install more Chrome in your body, but only to a certain extent. You can get more Chrome by leveling up or by using perks like Edgerunners.
The game now seems completely different and is getting closer to being the ideal game that CD Projekt Red had previously assured fans it would be. Now is the ideal moment to play Cyberpunk 2077 if you haven’t done so yet but have always wanted to. For those who are returning to the game, I would suggest starting over as the gameplay will be completely different from what you’ve experienced before.
Improved Clothing System
Additionally, the clothing system has been fixed. You can now wear your favorite outfits without losing ground in battle because of your Cyberware, or tech implants for your body. The update expands upon the transmog system that CDPR introduced the previous year, allowing you to store up to six clothing variations in your wardrobe that would appear regardless of your equipped status.

Reading Bonus: CyberPunk 2077 Phantom Library
The latest story campaign in Phantom Liberty, which CDPR describes as a “spy-thriller adventure,” has also been a lot of fun. After a few hours, it starts to feel like a cyberpunk heist film, with exciting set pieces and situations where characters use elaborate diagrams and visuals to explain the planned activities. Also, the storyline will interest you more than you can anticipate.
My favorite character in Cyberpunk 2077 is Solomon Reed, played by Idris Elba, who plays a major role in the Phantom Liberty plot. Elba’s performance has a subtle dynamism that provides a welcome diversion from the intense performance of Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand and nearly every other character in Night City.
You’re going to have a great time if you haven’t played the game before. Even if you’ve already played the base game, Phantom Liberty still has a ton of exciting gameplay for you to experience.
